I’m Behrouz, a product designer based in Vancouver. I’ve spent my career in startups, which means the job has rarely been just one thing. I’ve led product work, jumped into brand and marketing when needed, and helped teams turn loose ideas into something you can actually ship.

My center of gravity is still product design. I like ambiguous problems, tight timelines, and the work of making a product feel clear without making it feel sterile. I also really enjoy supporting other designers, whether that’s managing, giving direct feedback, helping them level up, or just being a steady partner when the work gets messy.

Outside of work, I love spending time on history, mythology, and language, and reading classic fantasy like Tolkien, Pratchett, and Jordan, and lately I’ve been on a murder mystery kick too.

I also enjoy writing. Last year I self published a poetry book called Thinking In Eighths, drawing inspiration from my love of Medieval Persian poetry.

More recently I’ve fallen into numismatics and antiques. Most of what I collect is from ancient to near ancient Iran. My most recent find is a 16th century map depicting Iran by the German cartographer Sebastian Münster, and I’m steadily adding to the collection!
